Several years after our first visit (arriving on August 9, 2017, and departing on August 14), we still consider this campground the best KOA we’ve ever stayed at. First of all, our site was just huge! We could easily fit another trailer into our space or several cars. We have a premium site with a…Continue Reading “Indianapolis KOA”
New state, new campground. Nice and chill- just the way I like it. And we have a big site with a woodsy view. That makes me happy too. Settling down to get some work done over the next few days – not as much sightseeing on the itinerary. Lots of space and trees here at…Continue Reading “Columbus Woods-n-Waters Campground”
We stayed a total of 15 days here – our longest stay anywhere during this trip since Dean has many family members and friends in this area. This is a big park with lots of plain sites, but we have fancy furniture and fire pit. Furthermore, we are surrounded on 3 sides by cabins and…Continue Reading “Monroe Co/Toledo North KOA Holiday”
This is a decent KOA, depending on which site you get. While we are surrounded by lots of people, we have enough space to forget they are all there. This is the view from my dining area and front door. They call it The Prairie View here… lol. Nice and green and clean.
We had been looking forward to this site for a while. This campground also lets you select your site. There are only two that put you this close to the lake. However, after walking around this place, I think any site that overlooks the lake still has a beautiful view. It’s a big lake! This…Continue Reading “Neshonoc Lakeside Camp Resort”
On the plus side, Dean is happy we have asphalt and a very organized system of hookups for the next five nights (arrived August 17, 2017, and departed August 22). I’m happy we have a fairly big lawn to ourselves. But that’s about all that I’m happy about at this campground that feels like it’s…Continue Reading “Tower Campground”
This campground is definitely “back to the basics,” but it’s only overnight for August 16, 2017, and basically a chill place having reasonably sized sites. We love the owners. They are really cool people who live full-time in an RV themselves, spending part of their year here and the rest of the year in Arizona…Continue Reading “On-Ur-Wa RV Park”
We did not get to explore this area much as we were passing through for one night only, August 15, 2017. After our last campground that was less than desirable, we had a more pleasant experience and a more beautiful view here. Isn’t that sunset great? I’m guessing this place is popular during the summer…Continue Reading “Sleepy Hollow RV Park & Campground”
We expected to be in Cody, WY for this stop and headed to Yellowstone, but snowfall made that a non-option. For as many weeks as we’ve been on the road, I guess experiencing our first detour at this time is not too shabby. So we’re aiming southwesterly and plan to be back on schedule in…Continue Reading “Casper KOA”
We spent three days here, beginning September 16, 2017. This campground is ok- it suits its purpose but I saw some places along the drive here where the views were spectacular. Dean and I agree we need to come back to the area in the future and spend a couple of weeks to fully explore….Continue Reading “Custer/Mt. Rushmore/Black Hills KOA”
