Although we started planning our Road Trip 2019 as homeowners with eventual plans to sell in 2020 perhaps, we accelerated our plans and sold the house so that we could become full-time RVers. We were under contract six weeks before our departure date and closed the day we left Las Vegas. Dean deserves all the…Continue Reading “Full-time Venturing: Road Trip 2019”
After a relatively successful Road Trip 2017 (only one weather-related detour), we decided we had learned a lot: We could get along with one another for extended periods in a relatively small space. We didn’t need to pack nearly as many clothes as we thought we did. We weren’t nearly as far from civilization that…Continue Reading “Getting More Venturous: Road Trip 2018”
We purchased the first RV that we owned together in the fall of 2016 with some preconceived ideas about where we would go, but it didn’t take long to decide that we would make plans for something… more epic! At least, more epic than we had originally envisioned. As part of our work life in…Continue Reading “In the Beginning: Road Trip 2017”
We were just outside Albuquerque, NM, For Stop #2 of Road Trip 2018 and again for Road Trip 2019. For these trips, we decided to try a different park than the one we stayed at during Road Trip 2017, American RV Park. We had never stayed at a casino RV park before, so we thought…Continue Reading “Route 66 RV Resort”
Several years after our first visit (arriving on August 9, 2017, and departing on August 14), we still consider this campground the best KOA we’ve ever stayed at. First of all, our site was just huge! We could easily fit another trailer into our space or several cars. We have a premium site with a…Continue Reading “Indianapolis KOA”
New state, new campground. Nice and chill- just the way I like it. And we have a big site with a woodsy view. That makes me happy too. Settling down to get some work done over the next few days – not as much sightseeing on the itinerary. Lots of space and trees here at…Continue Reading “Columbus Woods-n-Waters Campground”
We stayed a total of 15 days here – our longest stay anywhere during this trip since Dean has many family members and friends in this area. This is a big park with lots of plain sites, but we have fancy furniture and fire pit. Furthermore, we are surrounded on 3 sides by cabins and…Continue Reading “Monroe Co/Toledo North KOA Holiday”
This is a decent KOA, depending on which site you get. While we are surrounded by lots of people, we have enough space to forget they are all there. This is the view from my dining area and front door. They call it The Prairie View here… lol. Nice and green and clean.
We had been looking forward to this site for a while. This campground also lets you select your site. There are only two that put you this close to the lake. However, after walking around this place, I think any site that overlooks the lake still has a beautiful view. It’s a big lake! This…Continue Reading “Neshonoc Lakeside Camp Resort”
On the plus side, Dean is happy we have asphalt and a very organized system of hookups for the next five nights (arrived August 17, 2017, and departed August 22). I’m happy we have a fairly big lawn to ourselves. But that’s about all that I’m happy about at this campground that feels like it’s…Continue Reading “Tower Campground”
