Officially back on schedule on September 26, 2017, and resuming our original itinerary. Another overnighter. Not a picturesque place, but it’s clean and there’s no corn in sight. In fact, I haven’t seen for days now, so I think we escaped it finally! On the other hand, it was too windy to set up outside for our first night.
While this campground doesn’t meet my 1-week criterion, I’d stay here if passing through again. I’ve driven through Winnemucca before but never paid much attention to it. Checking TripAdvisor, I see there’s a reason for that.
Mountains to the front of us. Mountains to the rear of us. Sites are otherwise uninteresting, but serve their purpose better than a parking lot!
These mountains have no snow. Which is fine for now. I’m wearing flip-flops again today after a week or more of wooly socks and sneakers!
