Rock Springs/Green River KOA Journey

Categories Campground Reviews

This is another less-than-thrilling campground. And there are more relentless Wyoming winds. Thankfully the wind was not as cold as what hit us in Casper.

There is less site space than we had at the last place and it has my least favorite pull through configurations (I.e. Each pull-through faces opposite direction which means every two sites face each other and share common space rather than everyone facing the same direction and have “relatively” private space. (I’ve since learned these are called buddy sites.)

But again, wind means we’re not cooking or sitting outside. There’s also a LOT of dirt here… any rain and it would be awful. As a matter of fact, it DID rain and it WAS awful. This was the worst place we’ve been when it rained. Maybe they could charge a few dollars more and gravel this place better!

However, we do have water/power/sewer for our “just passing through” experience from September 21, 2017, to September 23. So I guess there’s that…

I do know there are pretty parts to WY-we had planned to be there now, but durn snow.

We have sort of a mountain/hill view but only if we crane our heads around while sitting on the sofa. Until neighbors showed up. On both sides- then we realized how small these sites are!

This WAS view from the sofa until the neighbor moved in.

Not many people were here when we arrived… that changed within a few hours.

Below are the sites I wanted-with a windscreen. (It’s like the wind happens all the time here or something.) The web site wouldn’t let me book this site. Still no one there.

First time I’ve seen tent sites enclosed… the wind is a serious thing here. I feel it rocking the RV- can’t imagine tenting in this environment. Not my idea of fun.

It was so rainy on our day to explore that we just stayed inside our rig, so we’re not really sure what there is to do here.
