Huntington/Fox Fire KOA Holiday

Categories Campground Reviews

We arrived at Huntington/Fox Fire KOA Holiday on July 14, 2017, just ahead of a torrential downpour and thunderstorm. Got set up before it let loose! It did clear up during our stay of four nights, however.

This 110-site campground has nice wide sites and we have some greenery on one side. There are lots of RVs on the other side, but thankfully the sites are spread out a lot. More so than any other park we’ve been in. There are fishing ponds to enjoy here, but the dog park is on the sad side. It’s one of those where people don’t seem to pick up after their dogs, so we won’t be taking advantage of it to let the girls stretch their legs, unfortunately.

Heritage Farm

Mostly we just stayed at the RV while here and went on a couple of shopping runs to restock supplies. But we did get out to Heritage Farm, a sort of local history museum, on Monday. It was interesting but lacked a lot of the Appalachian focus I had been led to believe (by marketing) was there.

We continue our trip by traveling next to Cross Creek Camping Resort.
